New Odesa to Rakhiv Train Connection
According to TSN.ua: Ukraine's state railway operator, Ukrzaliznytsia, is introducing a new long-distance daily service, train number 26/25, linking the Black Sea port of Odesa with the Carpathian town of Rakhiv. The inaugural departure from Odesa is scheduled for February 3, with the first service from Rakhiv set for February 4. This launch is part of a broader effort to enhance domestic connectivity following the implementation of a new national passenger train schedule in December.
Departing Odesa at 18:38, the train will arrive in Rakhiv at 13:20 the following day. The return journey departs Rakhiv at 14:21, arriving in Odesa at 08:38. The extensive route will serve numerous towns and cities, including:
- Podilsk
- Vapniarka
- Zhmerynka
- Khmelnytskyi
- Ternopil
- Lviv
- Ivano-Frankivsk
- Yaremche
- Tatariv-Bukovel
- Vorokhta
- Yasinya
- Kvasy
The train will feature a range of accommodations, including luxury sleeping cars, standard couchette compartments, and open-plan carriages, with designated women's and children's compartments available. This new service aims to make travel across Ukraine more convenient and accessible for its citizens.
Boosting Regional Tourism
The introduction of the Odesa-Rakhiv train is expected to positively impact tourism in the regions along its path. By directly connecting the coast with the Carpathian Mountains, a major tourist destination, Ukrzaliznytsia hopes to stimulate travel and economic activity in these areas.
We hope that travel between cities will become more convenient and accessible for Ukrainians.
