Ukrzaliznytsia Adjusts Train Schedules Amidst Russian Attacks: February 26 Update.
Ukrzaliznytsia Implements Schedule Changes
According to Novyny.live: In response to ongoing Russian attacks, Ukrzaliznytsia, Ukraine's state railway operator, has announced significant alterations to its train schedules as of February 26. These adjustments are part of the company's efforts to maintain operations under difficult wartime conditions. Notably, regional trains are now temporarily running only to and from Konotop. Additionally, operations to and from the Dnipro-Holovnyi station have been restricted for several routes, leading to the cancellation of the following services:
- #86/85 Lviv — Zaporizhzhia — Lviv
- #128/127 Lviv — Zaporizhzhia — Lviv
- #6 Iasinia — Zaporizhzhia
- #40/39 Solotvyno — Zaporizhzhia — Solotvyno
The railway company reported power outages in Zaporizhzhia following shelling. Consequently, passengers are strongly advised to pay close attention to station staff announcements during air raid alerts while at stations. 'Train movements will be organized according to the security situation,' a company representative stated. The company also reiterated that conductors must collect passengers' bed linen 30 minutes before the train's arrival.
Regional Operational Status
An enhanced security regime in the Kherson region has impacted railway operations. The situation in Mykolaiv remains under control. In the Sumy region, regional trains are operating solely to Konotop. Schedule modifications have also been implemented in the Kharkiv and Donetsk regions. All these measures are intended to ensure passenger safety and adapt to the existing threat level.
Amidst the ongoing armed conflict in Ukraine, these schedule changes represent a critical step in safeguarding passengers in regions under attack. Ukrzaliznytsia is continuously adapting its operations to the volatile situation to provide as safe and timely transport as possible. Given the tense and fluid circumstances nationwide, passengers are urged to monitor the carrier's official updates and follow all provided recommendations closely.
