Ukrzaliznytsia Implements Rail Disruptions and Bus Replacements for February 26.
Schedule Changes Enacted Due to Security Concerns
According to TSN.ua: In response to the ongoing security situation and the aftermath of shelling in several Ukrainian regions, Ukrzaliznytsia (Ukrainian Railways) has implemented significant changes to its train schedules as of February 26, 2023. These adjustments affect both train operations and the introduction of bus transfers in certain areas, a necessary step given the heightened threat level. These disruptions are part of the railway's continuous effort to maintain service under the extreme pressures of war.
The changes follow a Russian attack on railway infrastructure in the Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Mykolaiv, and Odesa regions on February 22, 2023. While damage to two locomotives did not bring rail traffic to a complete halt, delays of up to one hour are possible for commuter trains in areas like Zaporizhzhia. Movement to and from the "Dnipro-Holovnyi" station has also been temporarily restricted for several long-distance trains.
List of Trains with Restricted Movement
Train movements are now being organized with passenger safety as the top priority. For instance, bus services are replacing trains on the route from Lozova to Kramatorsk. Further schedule modifications may be introduced in the Kherson, Mykolaiv, Sumy, and Chernihiv regions, while trains in the Kharkiv and Donetsk regions are experiencing delays.

Ukrzaliznytsia is taking these measures to ensure passenger safety and the effective operation of rail transport under these challenging conditions.
The current situation underscores the critical need for wartime adaptation within Ukraine's transportation infrastructure. By implementing alternative routes and schedule corrections, Ukrzaliznytsia aims to preserve essential rail services throughout the prolonged conflict. This also highlights the necessity of constant monitoring of the security situation in regions served by the railway network.
