The government has announced winter support: what Ukrainians will receive.
Prime Minister Iulia Svyrydenko announced that the government is preparing a winter support package that will include both existing programs and new support measures. This is reported by the online publication 'Glavcom'.
According to inkorr.com: At a meeting with President Volodymyr Zelensky, the priorities and elements of the winter support package were outlined. It includes existing programs, such as fixed prices for energy resources for the population and housing subsidies, as well as new initiatives.
The government plans to implement the following programs:
- One-time financial assistance for all citizens of Ukraine for the winter period;
- Support for individuals affected by the war and those in difficult life circumstances;
- Free travel for citizens of Ukraine up to 3000 km at the expense of Ukrzaliznytsia;
- Medical examinations for individuals aged 40 and over.
The government promises to provide detailed information about all aspects of winter support soon. The Minister of Social Policy, Family, and Unity noted that the funds received could be spent on urgent needs, including clothing, footwear, and medical supplies.
Assistance will be provided to:
- children in guardianship and foster care, including children with disabilities;
- first group disabled veterans;
- children from low-income families;
- single pensioners with an additional allowance for care.
Further details of this extensive support package will be presented later. It is worth recalling that starting in December, a new winter support program will begin in Ukraine for socially vulnerable groups of the population.
In particular, a special free transport program will start, providing free train travel for distances of up to 3000 km for all citizens. The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of this winter support package, which will contain both new and already existing assistance programs. The primary focus will be on financial assistance to socially vulnerable categories, as well as free medical examinations and transport services.
The winter support that the government is preparing is particularly important in the context of economic instability and rising costs for basic needs. The steps taken indicate a desire to support the most vulnerable segments of society, which is especially relevant during the cold season. Details of the new programs are promised to clarify their implementation and availability for citizens.
