Defense firms granted simplified state property leases without auctions under new government rules.
Streamlined leasing of state-owned assets
According to Espreso.tv: During the period of martial law, the government has simplified the process for defense industry enterprises to lease state property without holding an auction. According to Deputy Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko, this measure aims to boost the operational efficiency of companies involved in producing missile systems, explosives, and cutting-edge weaponry. This policy shift is part of broader efforts to accelerate the supply of critical military equipment.
New regulations and their impact
Under the updated framework, only enterprises designated as critically important and listed by the Ministry of Defense in the register of state contract performers are eligible. Additionally, starting May 21, the Cabinet of Ministers simplified the process for defense-industrial complex companies to confirm their eligibility for customs benefits. These changes enable faster responses to national security needs during wartime.
The legislative adjustments are part of the government's broader push to support the country's defense sector amid the ongoing conflict. By speeding up and streamlining the production of essential weapons, these reforms aim to strengthen national security. Simplified leasing and customs procedures could significantly enhance the ability of defense firms to meet state orders on time, thereby ensuring the country receives the necessary resources during the armed conflict.
