Funding for Critical Infrastructure Protection

According to Novyny.live: Ukraine's government is channeling 11.2 billion UAH from the state budget reserve fund to safeguard critical infrastructure, as announced by Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko on March 14. The funds will target protection efforts across nine Ukrainian regions plus the Kyiv area. A total of 210 sites have been identified for immediate work to begin.

This decision follows recent attacks on the country's vital systems. On the night of March 14, over 400 attack drones struck Ukraine's energy grid, with a previous major assault occurring just a week earlier on the night of March 7. These strikes underscore the persistent threat to Ukraine's infrastructure amid the ongoing conflict.

Restoring Energy Capacity

On March 13, Energy Minister Denys Shmyhal reported that 3.5 GW of generation capacity had been restored out of over 9 GW that were lost. Facing continuous dangers to the energy sector, the government remains focused on ensuring the stable operation of the country's critical infrastructure.

The substantial funding allocation highlights the urgent need to maintain stability amid ongoing enemy threats. During wartime, when the nation's energy system is under repeated assault, the government aims not only to recover lost capacity but also to prevent further damage. This decision forms part of a broader national strategy to sustain the country's essential functions throughout the conflict.
