Priority projects for water supply

According to inkorr.com: The Cabinet of Ministers has identified key facilities that have priority in the construction and restoration of water supply networks. This list includes new water pipelines in the Vinnytsia, Odesa, and Poltava regions, as well as the completion of works on facilities that have already been initiated in Dnipropetrovsk and Mykolaiv regions. This was reported by 'Hlavkom' based on the data from the Ministry of Community and Territorial Development.

The implementation of these projects will occur in a simplified manner, as part of an experimental project initiated jointly with the Ministry of Community and Territorial Development. This will reduce bureaucratic barriers and enable faster access to funding, which will facilitate the prompt start of work and the effective restoration of the water supply system.

According to the Minister of Community and Territorial Development Oleksiy Kuleba, the project will allow for the restoration of important infrastructure in the shortest possible time and ensure people's access to quality drinking water.

Restoration of water supply in Ukraine

We remind that since 2022, residents of Mykolaiv will receive fresh water in their taps. In 2024, UAH 8.7 billion was allocated from the state budget for the construction of a new water intake system from the Southern Bug River. Thanks to the Recovery Agency, the cost of the project has been reduced to UAH 6.5 billion, and the saved funds will be used for the construction of water pipelines in other regions.

The war in Ukraine significantly worsens the sanitary-epidemiological situation due to the destruction of infrastructure, disruptions in water supply, and environmental pollution, which negatively affects the quality of drinking water.

Continuing work on restoring water supply systems and improving water quality in the regions is crucial for raising the living standards of the population and ensuring its basic need – clean water.
