New Combat Bonuses Approved: Ukrainian Soldiers Could Earn Up to 40,000 UAH Per Day.
New Incentive Payment System Takes Effect
According to Novyny.live: Starting June 1, 2026, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine is rolling out an updated motivational payment structure for military personnel. Designed to boost morale and provide extra financial support, this initiative targets those serving in active combat zones as well as rear-line positions. The government sees these payments as a key tool for enhancing troop effectiveness and national defense.
Payment Breakdown
Under the new rules, soldiers stationed in rear areas will receive a monthly supplement of 10,000 hryvnias. Daily combat bonuses are set at the following rates:
- 20,000 hryvnias for reclaiming lost positions;
- 40,000 hryvnias for storming and capturing enemy positions;
- 50,000 hryvnias per month for completing combat missions at command points;
- 30,000 hryvnias per month for carrying out other combat tasks.
No single soldier may receive more than 460,000 hryvnias in total monthly payments. Additionally, special rewards are offered for capturing enemy personnel:
- 100,000 hryvnias for each enemy combatant taken prisoner;
- 15,000 hryvnias for each enemy killed in small arms or hand-to-hand combat.
Importantly, these payments can continue for up to 12 months following a soldier’s injury.
Initial payments for June 2026 are expected to be disbursed in July of the same year. The government believes this financial incentive system will strengthen Ukraine’s defense capabilities and improve mission outcomes.
Introducing this new payment framework is a significant step in supporting Ukrainian troops amid ongoing aggression. It could substantially boost soldiers' morale and readiness for combat operations.
Officials hope that this financial backing will serve as a powerful motivator, helping to preserve and fortify the nation’s defense as it fights for independence.
