The government changes rules for children affected by war: what is now provided.

The Cabinet of Ministers has made a decision to change the procedure for granting status to children affected by war, said Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko. Now the status can be obtained not only at the place of internal displacement but also at the place of application or where the local authorities found the child. The list of grounds for obtaining it has also been expanded - among them deportation, forced relocation, death or disappearance of parents due to the war.

The condition of children affected by war

It is known that more than 412 thousand children have already received such status, but the actual number is likely much higher. More than a million children have been affected by the war, many of whom have experienced difficult life circumstances. The changes that have been adopted are necessary to protect the rights of every child and ensure their well-being, noted the Prime Minister.

Benefits for large families

Ukrainians with two or more minor children can take advantage of the state tax social benefit. This program is aimed at supporting families with children. If a family has two or more children under 18, part of their salary is exempt from taxation.

Changes in the procedure for granting status to children affected by war will facilitate the expansion of opportunities for obtaining this status and covering a larger number of children in need of support. Tax benefits for large families will help reduce the financial burden on such families and contribute to the upbringing and development of children.
