Ukraine is facing problems with the installation of gas piston units (GPU) that are supposed to provide backup power supply during outages. According to an expert, only 35 out of 91 GPUs have been installed so far. Many cities do not have the funds to connect this equipment. Even regional centers are facing this issue, as some are not receiving GPUs from the authorities. However, Khmelnytsky managed to solve this problem back in 2009 and successfully uses GPUs during power outages. The expert urges local authorities to allocate funds for communal needs, which will ensure the proper functioning of critical infrastructure even during outages.
