An employee of the customs service in Odessa was found to have demanded and received a bribe from a representative of two companies. The woman offered to 'look the other way' on customs violations in exchange for over 270 thousand hryvnias.
According to information from the Prosecutor General's Office, the woman used her official position to pressure company representatives, demanding money for not imposing fines for customs violations. She received the bribe in cash.

The woman was charged under the article for receiving illegal benefits in conjunction with extortion. The court decided to keep her in custody and set bail at 787 thousand hryvnias.
It should be noted that the commander of the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Federation has been charged with violating the laws and customs of war. Also, 'black loggers' were detained in the Odessa region.
