In Ukraine, the price of a popular vegetable has immediately increased by 15 hryvnias: new prices.
Tomato prices in Ukraine have sharply increased compared to September 2024, reports the portal "Minfin", citing data. The most common type of tomatoes, red ones, now costs an average of 84 hryvnias per kilogram, which is 13.5% more than in September last year. The price of pink tomatoes also rose by 12.6%, to 87.35 hryvnias per kilogram, and for cream tomatoes, the increase was 26.4%, with the price standing at 74.90 hryvnias per kilogram.
It is interesting to note the price difference among various supermarket chains. For example, the price of red tomatoes is the lowest in the Novus chain – 74.99 hryvnias per kilogram, in Auchan they cost 77.10 hryvnias, and in Megamarket – 99.90 hryvnias. Pink tomatoes are more advantageous in price in Auchan – 84.80 hryvnias, in Metro – 89.90 hryvnias. Cream tomatoes are available in Metro for 74.90 hryvnias per kilogram.
It should be noted that there has also been a significant increase in the cost of eggs and chicken compared to September last year, according to food prices monitoring in Ukraine conducted on October 7, 2024.
