In Ukraine, over 900 MW of backup generation has been installed at critical facilities.

The Association of Small Towns of Ukraine informs that the critical infrastructure has sufficient backup power sources.

As of November 1, according to the State Inspectorate of Energy, over 900 MW of backup capacities have been installed at critical infrastructure facilities. These measures are aimed at ensuring the uninterrupted operation of facilities that are vital for the functioning of communities in case of power supply interruptions,' the Association reported.

Work is also underway to install and connect distributed gas generation across the country.

Significant support from international financial organizations and donors played an important role in achieving these results. Thanks to their support, many projects aimed at enhancing the energy security of communities were implemented.

'Local authorities are ready to take responsibility. Within the framework of the Project 'Enhancing the Energy Resilience of Communities' with the support of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine in close cooperation with the Ministry of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development, and the Ministry of Energy, we managed to activate the preparation of critical infrastructure for potential power outages and distributed generation processes,' said the head of the Association, Pavlo Kozyrets.
