The first Rheinmetall plant started operating in Ukraine. Great news from the CEO of the concern.
The German arms manufacturer Rheinmetall plans to build four plants in Ukraine, one of which is already operational. This was reported by the company's CEO Armin Papperger in an interview with tsn.ua.
«Currently, we have a production facility and a maintenance facility. By the end of the year, we will already have the first state-of-the-art infantry fighting vehicle Lynx in Ukraine», – Papperger stated.
Papperger added that Rheinmetall holds 51% of the shares of this enterprise.
He also noted that the company plans to construct a powder plant and a munitions plant in Ukraine, as well as establish the production of air defense systems.
«The first plant is already ready. The second is on the way. And now I insist on speeding up all this because we cannot waste time», – emphasized the company director.
Papperger also described the capacities of these plants: «Production line No.1 will focus on tank manufacturing. The production of powder and munitions will meet NATO standards, which are currently not present in Ukraine… There will also be artillery and tank munitions production».
In early March, the CEO of Rheinmetall Armin Papperger announced the company's plans to create at least four plants in Ukraine.
