Court allowed special proceedings in the case of Trukhanov: details of the decision.
Special court proceedings in the case of Volodymyr Halanternyk
According to inkorr.com: The High Anti-Corruption Court made a decision to conduct special court proceedings regarding businessman Volodymyr Halanternyk. He is one of the suspects in the case of Odesa Mayor Hennadiy Trukhanov, which concerns the illegal appropriation of community property and money laundering. Halanternyk systematically avoided court hearings and hid from the investigation, even leaving the country and not returning.
According to the investigation, participants in the criminal scheme transferred land plots to developers without holding a competition, allowing them to illegally seize this property and build residential objects on it.
The decision of the High Anti-Corruption Court on special court proceedings once again emphasizes the seriousness of the charges faced by the suspects in this convoluted case.
The Halanternyk case draws attention to large-scale corruption schemes in local self-government. It serves as an important example of the fight against corruption in Ukraine, where each case of unlawful appropriation of community property has enormous consequences for the development of cities and society as a whole. The whole country will be watching the further developments in this case, as it concerns not only a specific individual but also the trust in state institutions.
