Today, September 11, the Vinnytsia City Court chose a preventive measure for the suspect in the murder of two schoolchildren in Sharhorod, Oleksiy Ponomaryov, in the form of 60 days of pre-trial detention. This was reported by Glavkom referencing the police of Vinnytsia region.

Circumstances of the Crime

According to inkorr.com: Among the probable causes of the crime is a conflict between the former teacher and one of the students. Currently, a pre-trial investigation is ongoing.

Tragedy in Sharhorod

Let us remind you that on September 10 in Sharhorod, located in the Zhmerinka district of Vinnytsia region, the bodies of two teenagers with stab wounds were found. Member of Parliament of Ukraine IX convocation Larysa Bilozir noted that the tragedy occurred around 7:30 in the city center. Nearby the hospital, an unknown man brutally killed two students of 10th and 11th grade who were heading to school.

Criminal Proceedings

Investigators initiated criminal proceedings under Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which provides for intentional murder of two or more persons. Punishment under this article may range from 10 to 15 years of imprisonment or life imprisonment.

Days of Mourning

According to the order of the mayor of Sharhorod, September 10 and 11 have been declared days of mourning. Tomorrow, September 12, the community will bid farewell to the deceased schoolchildren Vladyslav Bevz and Mykola Bylyk, who became victims of the attack by a former teacher.

The police of Vinnytsia region have detained the suspect in the crime. The investigation is ongoing, and the school community of Sharhorod is currently going through difficult times. Tomorrow there will be a farewell to the deceased.
