Grants for Displaced Persons and Agriculture: Caritas Launches Spring 2026 Program.
Agricultural Support Initiative
According to Novyny.live: In spring 2026, the international charitable foundation 'Caritas Ukraine' will roll out a financial grant program aimed at bolstering agriculture for internally displaced persons and other vulnerable groups. This effort falls under the broader project 'Multi-Sectoral Assistance to War-Affected Populations in Ukraine,' which is being carried out by the charity 'Caritas Poltava.'
Eligibility Requirements
The program will operate in several communities, including the Poltava territorial community, as well as the Kobeleaky and Lubny communities. Eligible participants must have a per-person income no higher than 8,422 hryvnias. Those interested need to complete a special pre-registration form to apply.
Vulnerability criteria for participation cover the following groups:
- Large families
- Individuals with disabilities
- People suffering from serious illnesses
- Single parents
- Pregnant women
- Elderly individuals
- Unemployed persons aged 50 and older
Key restrictions also apply, particularly regarding income limits and whether applicants are already receiving similar aid from other organizations.
This initiative is designed to assist those impacted by the war and to help revive Ukraine's agricultural sector.
Caritas Ukraine's program represents a significant step in supporting war-affected vulnerable populations, potentially laying the groundwork for improving their economic conditions. By backing agriculture during wartime, the effort also aims to strengthen regional food security—a pressing concern in the current environment. Beyond helping individual farms recover, the initiative could boost local economies more broadly.
