Ukraine is starting to issue foreign passports to citizens who were unable to obtain them due to new military registration rules. This was stated by Iryna Vereshchuk, Deputy Head of the President's Office.

According to her, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy made this decision during his visit to Warsaw, where he met with the Ukrainian community. Approximately 80,000 Ukrainians who are in Poland are particularly waiting for the issuance of documents.

The President has resolved this issue. Passports will be issued not only in Poland but also in all other countries where they are stuck, Vereshchuk wrote.

It is worth noting that obtaining Polish citizenship for Ukrainian refugees has become easier since 2025. To do this, one needs to have two years of permanent residence after obtaining refugee status and to know Polish at the B1 level.

Also, it should be noted that a significant number of Ukrainians in Norway plan to stay there permanently, even after the war ends - almost half of the surveyed refugees expressed such a desire.

As previously reported, there has been an increase in the migration of Ukrainian refugees from Poland to Germany, where 1.163 million Ukrainians lived as of September 2024.

In addition, for obtaining social assistance in Poland, mandatory documents include PESEL UKR, passport, or other identity documents.
