Power outage returned: Ukrenergo warned the Ukrainians.
Ukraine plans to cut off electricity due to heat
On Monday, August 19, power outage schedules will be applied in Ukraine. This was reported by the press service of Ukrenergo. According to weather forecasts, temperatures are expected to rise to +40 degrees, which will lead to an increase in electricity consumption. Therefore, power outage schedules will be implemented in Ukraine.
Starting from August 19, outages will be in effect from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM. There will be no restrictions at other times. Such restrictive measures are necessary due to increased consumption caused by the heat, explained Ukrenergo.
"A single outage queue will be applied. At other times – no restrictions. The reason for the restrictive measures is the increase in consumption due to the heat," Ukrenergo emphasized.
Earlier it was reported that next week is expected to have five days of heat with air temperatures of up to +28-30 degrees. Therefore, electricity consumption may increase by 10-12%.
The Ministry of Energy also named the planned amount of generation for the heating season.
