NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg acknowledges that his organization could have provided Ukraine with more weapons to prevent Russia's invasion last year. He made this statement in his interview with the German publication Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, which is cited by Reuters.

Stoltenberg noted that at the Time, NATO provided Ukraine with weapons only to prevent a war, not for active military actions. A large supply of weapons was not carried out due to fear of escalating the situation with Russia.

He also advocated for a diplomatic end to the conflict but added that dialogue with Russia must be based on Ukraine's strength.

Regarding his future after leaving the position, Stoltenberg stated that he has many options and plans to live in Oslo. He did not confirm reports of his appointment as head of the Munich Security Conference.

Let us remind you that Jens Stoltenberg is leaving the post of NATO Secretary General on October 1. His successor will be the former Prime Minister of the Netherlands, Mark Rutte.
