Aleppo has Lost Control Again: 'Hayat Tahrir al-Sham' Captures the City

On December 1, Syrian President Bashar Assad conceded and lost control over the city of Aleppo. Now most of the city has come under the control of the Sunni group 'Hayat Tahrir al-Sham', while the northern districts remain under the control of the 'Syrian Kurdistan Army'.

According to 'Alarabiya news', opposition forces have also captured the strategically important Aleppo airport and all surrounding settlements. Rebels even managed to enter the president's residence.

Aleppo airport, the second largest civilian airport in Syria, was seized by Colonel Hasan Abdul Ghani.

During the operation, the rebels captured Russian military equipment, including the Pantsir-S1 air defense system, Uragan and Grad rocket artillery systems, T-72 tanks, BTR-80 armored personnel carriers, as well as several planes and helicopters.

Syrian government forces retreated towards Idlib. Assad, who is currently in Russia, is hoping for support from his allies. He has already held talks with the Prime Minister of Iran, the President of the UAE, and the head of the unrecognized Abkhazia.

According to Assad, his allies support the Syrian government in fighting terrorism and protecting the territorial integrity of the country. 'Terrorism understands only strength, and we intend to overcome it,' Assad emphasized.
