Military Registration for Males Born in 2009

According to TSN.ua: All males born in 2009 are required to register for military service by July 31, 2026. This mandatory process involves entering their data into the Unified State Register. Registration can be completed either in person or remotely. This is a standard part of Ukraine's conscription system, which has been updated in recent years.

Young men who turn 17 in 2026 must complete this registration procedure. For an in-person visit to a local Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Center (TRSSC), based on their actual place of residence, the following documents are required:

  • Passport;
  • Birth certificate;
  • Tax identification number;
  • Education documents;
  • Four color photographs sized 35×45 mm.

It is important to note that this initial registration does not require passing a military medical commission.

Remote registration is available through the 'Reserve+' mobile application, provided the individual has an electronic ID. Schools and colleges are legally obligated to cooperate with the territorial recruitment centers to ensure proper registration of eligible youth. Failure to comply with military registration rules can result in administrative penalties.

“The procedure is mandatory, and data on the young men must be entered into the Unified State Register by July 31,” stated Kateryna Anishchenko.

The aim of this process is to ensure the timely registration of youth reaching conscription age within the military accounting system.

The Significance of Youth Registration

Introducing registration for 17-year-old males is a key step within broader military reforms and preparation for potential future conscription. It allows the state to maintain current information on the younger generation who may be eligible for mobilization in the future. The emphasis on keeping data in the Unified State Register highlights the necessity of coordination between educational institutions and military structures to ensure effective registration and legal compliance.
