Military Official Faces Court in Poltava Region

According to Novyny.live: A serviceman from a Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Center (TRSC) in the Poltava region has been convicted for dereliction of duty. The case centered on his mishandling of body-worn cameras and the disappearance of crucial video evidence. He was responsible for the inventory and storage of bodycams and memory cards, yet he turned in only a single camera instead of the full set he was supposed to manage.

Additional Violations Uncovered

Further investigation revealed the serviceman failed to maintain a logbook for training sessions on bodycam usage. This negligence meant that personnel within notification groups did not receive proper instruction on how to operate the equipment. The most recent usable recordings found on the devices were dated November 9, 2025.

The court found the serviceman guilty of negligent performance of military duties under Part 2 of Article 172-15 of Ukraine's Code of Administrative Offenses. He was ordered to pay a fine of 17,000 hryvnias, plus 665 hryvnias in court fees. This case highlights the critical importance of adhering to regulations governing technical equipment in military service, especially during a time of national defense. The use of bodycams has become increasingly important for accountability and operational transparency in conflict zones.

This situation and the court's ruling underscore the necessity for strict oversight of servicemen's duties, particularly in the face of contemporary challenges.

Improper handling of technical equipment can not only compromise military operations but also erode trust in the systems of military training and logistics. Consequently, this incident may prompt a review and strengthening of training programs and equipment accountability procedures within military units.
