Military Registration and Health Status

According to Novyny.live: Ukrainian citizens who have been removed from military registration due to their health condition are not required to undergo an annual military medical commission (MMC). This clarification comes from legal experts, who also note that the validity period of the electronic military registration document (e-MRD) does not affect this status. In Ukraine, military registration begins at age 17 and continues until a person reaches 60 years old. Removal from the register can occur upon reaching the critical age limit, disappearance, or loss of citizenship.

The Electronic Military Registration Document

The electronic military registration document, available via the 'Reserve+' app, is not mandatory for individuals who have already received a paper military registration document. Vyacheslav Kyryda clarified:

'No, you are not required to undergo the MMC annually. It is a technical feature that the e-MRD is valid for only one year. But this does not affect your MMC status in any way, so do not worry.'
This confirms that the exemption from the MMC obligation is independent of the electronic document's expiration date.

Furthermore, experts emphasize that an MMC decision deeming a person unfit for service has an indefinite validity under current law. Yuriy Aivazian stated:

'This is about the validity of the MRD, not the need to undergo an MMC. You are no longer liable for military service.'
Yevhen Oleksandrovych also confirmed that the MMC conclusion does not have an expiration date, highlighting the importance of correctly understanding the status of those removed from the register.

Consequently, citizens removed from military registration for health reasons can be assured of their rights and are not subject to annual military medical examinations. This guidance is particularly relevant given the ongoing national context, where clarity on military obligations is crucial. Understanding these rights helps prevent misunderstandings and unnecessary burdens that could arise from misinterpreting the legislation.

This information is vital for individuals with medical conditions qualifying them for an unfit-for-service status. A clear grasp of one's rights and obligations helps avoid confusion and additional duties that may stem from incorrect legal interpretation.
