Teacher from Poltava sentenced for spreading anti-Ukrainian posts: what is known.
A teacher from a vocational college in Poltava spread posts justifying the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine. He was brought to criminal responsibility.
This is stated in the
verdictdelivered by the Podilskyi District Court of Poltava on July 28.
Details of the case
According to court documents, the defendant three times spread anti-Ukrainian publications in the banned social network 'Odnoklassniki' in 2022 and 2024.
Which posts are being referred to:
- On July 30, 2022, the defendant reposted a publication stating that the Armed Forces of Ukraine themselves struck Olenivka to kill those who testified against the Kyiv regime;
- On November 6, 2024, the defendant spread a post claiming that the tragedy in Bucha was a bloody staging and fabrication;
- On November 25, the teacher left a post on his page stating that Ukraine is a nation of Nazis.
A forensic linguistic examination proved that such publications deny Russia's aggression against Ukraine.
Court's decision
The defendant entered into a plea agreement with the prosecutor. The man was sentenced to five years in prison without confiscation of property, but this punishment was replaced with three years of probation. The verdict can be appealed within 30 days from the date of its announcement.
It is noted that the
widowof a serviceman sued the Ministry of Defense. The woman managed to appeal the refusal of the defense department to provide her with 15 million hryvnias.
