A natural gas alarm can be a reliable tool for spotting leaks early. Affordable models are available for around 1,200 hryvnias and come with a guaranteed lifespan of eight years. There are also devices designed to detect carbon monoxide, though they lack the ability to control external systems; these cost 2,440 hryvnias. For those seeking higher sensitivity, detectors with a methane threshold of 0.5% are priced at 4,170 hryvnias.

Beyond installing alarms, it's also wise to consider additional safety measures to prevent poisoning or explosions. These systems include:

• automatic shutoff of the natural gas supply,
• self-activating ventilation,
• use of pipeline or bottled gas in full compliance with all safety protocols.
