On August 9 in Kharkiv, a Russian strike drone hit a shopping center in the Kyiv district. Five people were injured, including a 17-year-old girl. The injured are receiving medical assistance, and law enforcement officials have documented the consequences of the attack.

Head of the Kharkiv regional prosecutor's office Dmytro Yatsychenko reported that all the injured are already receiving the necessary medical assistance, and investigators are working at the scene.
'According to preliminary data, the strike was carried out by the UAV 'Molniya-2'. A furniture store was damaged, and significant destruction occurred. Drone fragments have been found.', he noted.
According to the investigation, three women, a 38-year-old man, and a 17-year-old girl sustained explosive injuries. All were taken to the hospital. The Kyiv District Prosecutor's Office of Kharkiv has initiated a pre-trial investigation regarding the attack under the article on war crimes (part 1 of article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
Consequences of the previous attack by Russian troops
Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi reported that even before the beginning of the Russian troops' offensive in the Kharkiv direction in 2024, Ukrainian defenders managed to detect and uncover the enemy's plans in advance. This allowed them to prepare for possible enemy actions and strengthen defensive lines.
Earlier we also informed that on the evening of August 7, Russian troops struck Kharkiv using strike drones. The attack caused a fire, and two civilians were injured as a result of the shelling.
