Bus driver attempted to smuggle prohibited drugs into Ukraine worth UAH 900,000.
At the Lviv customs, it was discovered that a passenger bus driver tried to bring medical supplies worth 900 thousand hryvnias into Ukraine. The incident occurred at the border with Poland when border guards stopped a bus traveling the route 'Szczecin - Kherson'.
What medical supplies were detected
During the inspection of the bus interior, a thermal bag containing medicinal products with import restrictions into Ukraine was found. Among them were 24 OZEMPIC pen syringes and 19 WEGOVY brand syringes. The driver claimed he was unaware of the presence of these substances in the cabin and that he was simply asked by strangers to help.
The customs officers drew up a report for violating Article 471 of the Customs Code of Ukraine in connection with this incident. It was also reported that in Odesa, a cargo with smuggled goods worth nearly one million hryvnias was seized, and Moldova introduced new requirements for Ukrainian drivers at the border.
