A Volhynian woman mobilized to the army with her cat.
A woman from Volhynia, Lyudmyla Kostiuk, has been serving in the 100th brigade for three years, having mobilized to the army along with her cat. This information was reported by a video from the unit.
Before the full-scale war began, Lyudmyla owned a café. However, after the Russian invasion, she had to move to Italy with the children of her sister and brother-in-law - military personnel who lived in Mariupol.
The sister's husband informed Lyudmyla that the 100th brigade lacked cooks, and in the summer of 2022, she decided to join the Armed Forces.
After returning from Italy, she was joined by a cat named Gridzhio, whom she named because of his gray coloring.
'I decided to go to the army, but I had no one to leave Gridzhio at home. There are relatives and acquaintances, but in order to have a cat in the house, you need to love it,' Lyudmyla noted.
Lyudmyla announced her intentions to the TCC and explained that she could join the army but with the cat. The representatives of the TCC simply laughed, considering it a joke.
Currently, Lyudmyla is the head of the logistics department and is responsible for the canteen. Along with her, her cat Gridzhio has been serving for three years.
'Initially, we were in Volhynia, and now, in the second rotation, we are in the East together. He serves alongside me, constantly moving with us. So we serve together: morning duty and then home in the evening,' Lyudmyla added.
According to Lyudmyla, Gridzhio has changed over these three years - he has become calmer.
'Is the cat happy? I think so. His life is never boring: he travels, meets new people, and receives love from his brothers-in-arms,' Lyudmyla summed up.
She noted that she plans to celebrate victory together with Gridzhio.
The cat had previously saved his owner's life during a shelling. A few minutes before the tragedy, the pet began to meow loudly and stubbornly called his owner to the room, who ultimately was not harmed by the shelling.
It is also known that this cat traveled 1500 km in the USA to return home.
