'The duty officers from monitoring provided notifications about the threat, the crew did great - they managed to safely secure the locomotive, but unfortunately did not evacuate - they just lay down',
he said.
Condition of the injured
As a result of the explosion, the driver and the assistant driver were injured. Doctors have already removed the fragments and stitched them up, the condition of both patients is stable.
'Nearby, other locomotive colleagues are waiting in the hospital. All assistance is provided. We will decide with the doctors when there will be an opportunity for further transportation and rehabilitation',
Pertzovskyi noted.
Situation on the railway
Due to nighttime power outages on the Dnipro Railway, train movement was temporarily carried out by diesel locomotives and generators. Currently, the main sections are electrified, partially movement continues with diesel locomotives.
'There were also a few minor hits on the railway infrastructure - we are promptly eliminating them without affecting traffic. The main thing now is: we are doing everything possible for the quickest recovery of our guys - the drivers',
Pertzovskyi added.
Death of a medic
It was previously reported that during a repeated shelling of Kyiv, 56-year-old medic Serhii Smoliak was killed.
This incident indicates the continuation of aggression against civilian infrastructure, which affects not only the railway but also the lives of people working in this field. It is important for all the injured to receive the necessary assistance and support, and for train traffic to restore its stability as quickly as possible.
