Military Registration for Internally Displaced Persons

According to Novyny.live: Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Ukraine are legally required to register for military service at their local Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Center (TRC). A key step in this process involves submitting two identical copies of a formal application. Legal expert Vladyslav Derii clarifies that both copies must be officially registered, and the applicant must ensure the TRC stamps, signs, and dates the second copy as proof of receipt.

This dual-application procedure is a standard administrative safeguard to protect the rights of citizens during the ongoing conflict.

Procedure in Case of Refusal

If a TRC refuses to accept an IDP's application for registration, specific steps must be followed. Vladyslav Derii advises that individuals must obtain a written, official refusal from the center.

"If the application is not registered or they refuse to enlist you until a search warrant is lifted, you need to obtain a written refusal." - Vladyslav Derii

This formal refusal document should then be used to file a complaint with the Ministry of Defense and the General Staff, and to report the incident to the police.

Adhering to these procedures is critical for IDPs, as properly filed documentation directly affects their legal status and ability to fulfill civic duties. Given the current martial law, it is vital for displaced persons to understand their rights, obligations, and the correct course of action should registration issues arise.
