According to The Sun: Ruslan Shingirey, 26 years old, received life imprisonment after being convicted of abducting and strangling eight-year-old schoolgirl Masha Zubina before the brutal attack.

This is a shocking moment when the Russian soldier cries 'they will kill me in prison', after being sentenced for violent rape and the murder of an eight-year-old girl.

The murder occurred immediately after the serviceman was discharged from the army. In court, Shingirey admitted that he offered the girl a ride in his car under the pretense of taking her home.

Video shows him watching the girl in the village from his car. Instead of taking the child home, Shingirey took her to a wooded area and tied her hands.

He confessed: 'It was obvious she was scared. She said or did nothing.'

Later, he told prosecutors that he placed a bag over the girl's head and raped her. Initially, he claimed he left her to die, but it is now believed that he killed her.

He responded in a cold voice: 'I did not remove the plastic bag from her head.'

Ruslan Shingirey stated: 'I am afraid that because of this crime I might be killed in prison.' The court found him guilty of abduction, violent acts, rape, and murder by strangulation.

This case is shocking and is just one of many examples of violent crimes committed by servicemen returning from the war in Russia.

Russian President Putin has annulled criminal cases and sentences for tens of thousands of people so they could participate in his war.

Experts condemned this plan, calling it a violation of the fundamentals of criminal justice. Researcher Ekaterina Schulman called it 'a bold legal experiment on society.'
