According to information obtained from the father, human rights defender, journalist, activist, and co-founder of the Human Rights Center ZMINA, Maksym Butkevych was released from Russian captivity on October 18. His father spoke about this.

He received a call from the Coordinating Headquarters, where they informed him of his son's return to Ukraine as part of a prisoner exchange.

According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, on October 18, a prisoner exchange took place between Ukraine and Russia in a 95 for 95 format. After the exchange, Russian soldiers are located in Belarus, where they receive medical and psychological assistance.

Let us remind you that representatives of the Ukrainian authorities have not yet confirmed the information about the exchange.

It also became known that on the Bakhmut direction, Russian occupiers allegedly shot a possibly wounded serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine who was captured. Law enforcement officers have started an investigation.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky presented certificates for obtaining apartments to Heroes of Ukraine and the families of fallen soldiers who received this title posthumously.

It is worth noting that, formally, there are no prisoners of war in Russia. A human rights defender spoke about Putin's cynical invention.
