Only one out of six missiles was shot down. Ihnat explained why it has become harder to shoot down ballistic missiles.
The Ukrainian air defense is becoming less effective due to new tactics and the modernization of the Russian army. This was reported by Colonel Yuriy Ihnat, head of the communications department of the Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He noted that ballistic missiles are becoming a more challenging task to destroy.
However, Ukraine is actively exchanging information with its Western partners to improve combat technology. In particular, Ukraine aims to make NASAMS and IRIS-T systems effective against ballistic missiles.
It is worth reminding that a massive attack by Russia on Ukraine occurred a month ago when drones and missiles were used. The defense managed to destroy only one of the six missiles. Recently, on the night of April 6, 2025, Russian occupiers carried out a combined strike with various types of missiles, resulting in one death and three injuries.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky believes that the pressure on Russia is insufficient. Russia continues its terrorist actions while the international community has not found a way out of this situation.
