Ukrainians honored the memory of Markiyan Morozevych, who died on the front
Every day at 9 a.m., Ukrainians honor the memory of those who died in the Russian-Ukrainian war. Today, together we will honor the memory of Markiyan Morozevych.
On March 8, 2022, Lieutenant Markiyan Morozevych (call sign Samurai, Shooter) was killed while performing a combat mission in Luhansk region. This was reported by the Lviv City Council.
Markiyan was born on January 23, 1998, in Lviv and studied at Lviv Secondary School No. 82. Since 2014, he had been a volunteer and a member of the second reserve battalion of the DUC 'Right Sector', where he underwent military training.
In July 2015, Markiyan joined the eighth battalion 'Aratta' and performed combat missions in the anti-terrorist operation zone. He was awarded state honors for his courageous service. During this time, he also studied at the Law College of Lviv National Ivan Franko University.
In 2017, Markiyan enrolled in the National Academy of Land Forces named after Hetman Petro Sahaidachny and successfully graduated in the summer of 2021, receiving the rank of lieutenant.
Lieutenant Markiyan Morozevych performed combat missions as part of the 24th separate mechanized brigade named after King Daniel of the Western Operational Command of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Luhansk region.
Close people describe Markiyan as a true warrior who built his command on subordination, mutual trust, and respect. He constantly taught soldiers military affairs and applied innovative technical solutions on the battlefield.
Unfortunately, the life of the young lieutenant was cut short on March 8, 2022. Markiyan Morozevych (call sign Samurai, Shooter) died while performing a combat mission in Luhansk region.
Markiyan's funeral took place at the Garrison Church of Saints Peter and Paul on November 27, 2024. The warrior was buried in Lychakiv Cemetery.
Markiyan is remembered by his grandmother, parents, brother, godparents, and all his family.
For his courage and selflessness in defending Ukraine, Markiyan Morozevych was posthumously awarded the Order of Bohdan Khmelnytsky III class by the Decree of the President of Ukraine No. 323/2022 dated May 8, 2022.
We honor the memory of all who died in the struggle for the freedom and independence of Ukraine and bow our heads in mourning for them during the nationwide moment of silence.
