Fresh Assaults Target Zaporizhzhia Region

According to Novyny.live: The Zaporizhzhia region in southeastern Ukraine has come under renewed attack from Russian forces. The Polohy district was hit hardest, with three civilians reported wounded. These injuries over a 24-hour period underscore the ongoing danger to non-combatants in the area.

Regional Impact

The military strikes affected over thirty separate towns and villages, including:

  • Komyshuvakha
  • Rizdvianka
  • Ternuvate
  • Nove Pole
  • Barvinivka
  • Liubytske
  • Zaliznychne
  • Charivne
  • Verkhnia Tersa
  • Zelene
  • Kopani
  • Rivne
  • Dolynka
  • Vozdvyzhivka
  • Novosoloshyne

Attackers carried out at least 20 airstrikes on residential and social infrastructure sites, along with one missile strike targeting the city of Zaporizhzhia itself.

Furthermore, Russian forces launched 533 drones, predominantly FPV types. The assault included a minimum of four strikes from multiple launch rocket systems and 228 artillery attacks, which hit 13 different population centers. This bombardment resulted in damage to at least 69 civilian structures, including homes, vehicles, and other infrastructure.

According to Ivan Fedorov, head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, the situation remains tense, with local communities continuing to suffer significant losses from the aggression.

This latest wave of attacks signals a continued escalation of the conflict and the persistence of active hostilities on Ukrainian soil. The Polohy district and other areas have become arenas of intense fighting, posing a direct threat to civilian lives and destabilizing the wider region. Given the sheer scale of the assault, it is critical for the international community to respond to these events and support Ukraine in safeguarding its citizens. The region has been a focal point of fighting since the early stages of Russia's full-scale invasion.
