Major Traffic Jams Hit Odesa-Reni Highway as Drivers Queue for Moldovan and Romanian Borders.
Road Conditions as of February 1
According to Novyny.live: Drivers heading towards the borders with Moldova and Romania encountered severe traffic congestion on the Odesa-Reni highway on the morning of February 1. Significant delays are being reported near the village of Mayaky and in the approach lanes to the border checkpoints, with vehicle queues stretching for several kilometers and severely impeding travel. This key route is a vital corridor for international travel and trade from southern Ukraine.
Heavy traffic has also been logged at the 'Starokozache - Tudora' crossing. Furthermore, backups are observed on the M-15 highway in the direction of Orlivka, near the towns of Tatarbunary, Brosky, and Izmail. The situation at the 'Reni - Giurgiulești' checkpoint is somewhat better: exiting Ukraine is proceeding without queues, but a traffic jam is forming on the inbound side.
Advice for Drivers
Motorists are strongly advised to account for these road conditions and plan their journeys accordingly to avoid extended delays.
These border bottlenecks may be linked to increased seasonal travel or holiday periods, which typically see a surge in vehicles on routes leading to international crossings. Drivers are recommended to check current traffic reports, allow extra time for their trips, and plan ahead to minimize travel time and prevent unexpected hold-ups.
