Suspect in Parubiy's murder fled to Khmelnytskyi region
According to inkorr.com: 52-year-old resident of Lviv Mykhailo Stselnykov, suspected of murdering former Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Andriy Parubiy, fled to Khmelnytskyi region. This was reported by the publication 'Glavkom'.
According to 'Glavkom', law enforcement officers found that Stselnykov was hiding in a house near Bakota in the Kamianets-Podilskyi district. After his detention, plans were made to transfer him across the Dniester River to another country.
“Taking into account the collected evidence, the legal qualification of the criminal offense has been changed to Part 1 of Article 263 (illegal handling of weapons) and Article 112 (encroachment on the life of a people's deputy of Ukraine, committed in connection with his official or public activities) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine”
The Halytskyi District Court of Lviv on September 2 chose a preventive measure for Stselnykov in the form of detention. The Office of the Attorney General requalified the case, and now the punishment for these articles provides for imprisonment for a term of 10 to 15 years or life imprisonment.
Thus, the suspect in the murder of Andriy Parubiy, Mykhailo Stselnykov, fled to Khmelnytskyi region, where he was detained and the case was requalified from murder to illegal handling of weapons and encroachment on the life of a people's deputy.
This situation draws attention to new circumstances of the case, concerning both the safety of people's deputies and the work of law enforcement agencies. The requalification of the case indicates that the investigation has new evidence that requires further investigation and public attention.
