In Kyiv, an employee of the municipal organization KMDA is suspected of official negligence. She purchased 200 body cameras for the 'Municipal Security' of the capital, which did not meet technical requirements.
The official is suspected of causing budget losses of 1.7 million UAH
According to the investigation, the annual needs of the enterprise planned to purchase 200 body cameras worth almost 2 million UAH. The official responsible for the tender recognized a private company as the winner without checking the compliance of the product with technical requirements.
As a result, the security personnel received equipment whose characteristics did not meet official needs. Such actions led to budget losses for Kyiv amounting to about 1.7 million UAH.
The employee is suspected of improper performance of duties, which caused severe consequences. She faces up to five years in prison with an additional penalty of a ban on holding certain positions or engaging in certain activities for up to three years.
It should be noted that the head of the municipal enterprise in Kyiv has been charged with aiding the embezzlement of 400 thousand hryvnias.
It has also become known that two employees of KMDA, who may be involved in budget misappropriation, have been charged.
As a result of the investigation, it was found that the suspected employee of the municipal organization illegally purchased body cameras that did not meet the requirements, which led to losses in the budget. Violations of discipline in the procurement field have resulted in serious consequences that may have legal repercussions for the suspected individual.
