Zelensky announced million-dollar payments to frontline communities and additional funding for electronic warfare.
Zelensky visited Kryvyi Rih and emphasized the need for air defense
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky arrived in Kryvyi Rih in Dnipropetrovsk region to pay tribute to the victims of a missile strike that occurred a week ago. As a result of this attack, 19 people died, including 9 children. On the same day, an additional tragedy was caused by a kamikaze drone attack.
Right now, I am in a shelter in this very school where three children studied. Unfortunately, they perished - the President noted.
The President discussed the situation with participants of the 'Ramstein' meeting in Brussels. He emphasized that air defense and additional air defense systems are extremely important. The head of state noted that Ukraine is not just asking for help, but is also ready to purchase the necessary systems. Zelensky has already discussed this issue with U.S. President Donald Trump.
Powerful weapons are the only thing one can trust for the protection of citizens' lives, having such a neighbor as Russia - said Zelensky.
During his visit, the President announced the allocation of 540 million hryvnias for funding electronic warfare systems. Financial support for frontline and border communities was also announced.
Our support will be regular, we plan to provide priority assistance to communities. We want to help with shelters, transportation, and other solutions for the protection of people - Zelensky noted.
The President also visited wounded servicemen undergoing rehabilitation and thanked the medical staff for their assistance in saving Ukraine's defenders.
