Zelensky instructed to activate contacts with partners regarding air defense.
President Volodymyr Zelensky demands the Minister of Defense and the Minister of Foreign Affairs to increase contacts with partners on air defense. He also calls on the USA and Europe to produce more air defense systems and missiles for them. He stated this in his address on April 6.
Zelensky instructed the ministers to activate contacts with partners regarding air defense and called for bilateral work, particularly with the United States. The President also emphasized the need to fulfill agreements on providing Ukraine with air defense that had been concluded but not implemented. He urged partners to produce both air defense systems and missiles for them more actively.
“Patriots,” which are currently just sitting somewhere in storage with partners, need to actually protect lives. It is also essential to significantly increase production of both air defense systems and missiles for them in Europe and America. We in Ukraine can ensure such production and need appropriate political decisions - localization of production, necessary licenses - this is what will help not only us but also all partners who want security and do not want war. We have already talked about this with everyone, we already have an understanding that this is absolutely possible. And every Russian strike serves as a reminder to partners: we finally need to do what was agreed upon,” emphasized Zelensky.
Recall that as a result of a missile attack by Russia, one person was killed and three were injured in Kyiv. Fires also broke out in two districts of the capital due to the attack. An enemy shelling was also recorded in Kryvyi Rih, resulting in the deaths of 18 people, including nine children, and damaging 29 houses.
