Zelenskyy Reveals the Key to Victory: What Russia Must Finally Grasp.
The Ukrainian President’s Vision of War’s Consequences
According to Novyny.live: In a recent interview with The Guardian, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy shared his perspective on what Russia’s society must come to terms with regarding the war, the erosion of Moscow’s global standing, and Ukraine’s capacity to strike Russian military targets. He emphasized that a critical step toward victory lies in Russians recognizing the devastating fallout of the conflict, stating:
“I believe the greatest victory in this war will come when Russian society realizes that war is horrific and that it is a tragedy for them as well.”
Zelenskyy further stressed that the Russian people need to understand their inability to defend their own country. This realization could become a pivotal factor in shaping developments across former Soviet states, including:
- Azerbaijan — which continues to pursue an independent policy;
- Armenia — where democratic institutions are advancing;
- Moldova — which is actively moving toward European integration.
Ukraine’s Capacity to Respond to Challenges
Addressing Moscow’s political influence in the region, the Ukrainian president highlighted Ukraine’s ability to conduct strikes inside Russian territory. He noted that a combination of military pressure, international isolation, and internal shifts within Russian society could significantly alter the situation. Key to this process are discussions with German and French leaders Friedrich Merz and Emmanuel Macron, as well as coordination with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer. These meetings could prove essential in crafting a unified response to the challenges facing Ukraine and its allies.
Zelenskyy’s remarks underscore the importance of societal awareness regarding the war’s consequences—not just in Russia but also in neighboring countries, where political dynamics may shift. Engagement with Western partners and strategic negotiations could be decisive for future developments, particularly concerning the security landscape in Eastern Europe. A decline in Russia’s sway over nearby nations might open new avenues for Ukraine to strengthen its position on the international stage.
