Zelensky named the cities that Russia wanted to occupy in 2024.
President Volodymyr Zelensky reported that Ukraine successfully defended itself against three operations by the Russian Federation regarding the occupation of eastern cities in the autumn-winter of 2024. He expressed gratitude to the residents of Kharkiv, Sumy, and Zaporizhzhia for their resilience and endurance during these events.
'Autumn-winter of 2024 was the disruption of three operations by the Russian Federation to occupy Kharkiv, Sumy, and Zaporizhzhia. And I believe that the heroes here are primarily the soldiers. Everyone did well. The state went through this in 2024,' emphasized the head of state.
Zelensky also expressed his hopes for the support of the newly elected US President Donald Trump in resolving the conflict with Russia. He believes that Trump can help stop Putin. The president added that Ukraine maintains constant contact with America at the highest level, meetings were held with the head of the President's Office, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, and the Minister of Defense.
