Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky submitted to the Verkhovna Rada a draft resolution for the appointment of a new Minister of Defense. According to him, he wants to see former Prime Minister Denys Shmygal in this position.
Appointment of the Minister of Defense
Zelensky has already submitted to parliament a draft regarding the appointment of Shmygal as Minister of Defense.
'Draft Resolution on the appointment of Shmyhal D.A. to the post of Minister of Defense of Ukraine',— stated in the document.
The new Minister of Defense is to take charge of the Ministry of Defense and take the reins into his own hands in the coming days. This decision may have a significant impact not only on the work of the military department but also on the overall situation in the country, as the defense of Ukraine is currently one of the most pressing issues.
