Zelensky Warns of Imminent Major Russian Strike: Urges Vigilance During Air Raid Alerts.
Zelensky's Appeal to Ukrainians
According to Novyny.live: On June 20, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky urged citizens to pay close attention to air raid sirens. He stated that Russia has prepared for a new large-scale attack and asked people to take care of themselves during this dangerous period.
Zelensky emphasized: 'Tonight and in the coming hours, it is critical to be especially attentive to air raid warnings: the Russians have prepared for another massive strike. Please, look after yourselves.'
Data on Russian Attacks
In his address, Zelensky also detailed the consequences of recent Russian strikes against Ukraine. According to him, Russian forces have deployed over 200 Shahed kamikaze drones. The most critical situation unfolded in Zaporizhzhia, where at least two people were killed and five others wounded in an attack. On June 20, Russian troops struck Zaporizhzhia with guided aerial bombs and also targeted Nikopol with FPV drones. Other regions came under fire as well, including:
- Donetsk Oblast
- Sumy Oblast
- Kharkiv Oblast
- Dnipropetrovsk Oblast
Air raid alerts were also issued in Kyiv.
Regional Situation
Zelensky thanked all partners providing aid to Ukraine but noted that international pressure is still insufficient. He stressed:
'Our offer for a meeting—a proposal to Putin—for a direct and honest dialogue in a Ukraine-Russia format with partner support—remains on the table.'These remarks underscore the ongoing diplomatic efforts amid the protracted conflict.
Overall, the situation in Ukraine remains tense, with citizens continuing to respond to challenges stemming from Russian aggression. The president's call for caution and readiness reflects the severity of the current circumstances. Importantly, despite the threats, Ukraine persists in seeking diplomatic avenues to resolve the conflict and secure international backing, which could shape future developments.
