Russia Prepares Strikes on Ukraine’s Water Supply Systems, Zelensky Warns.
Zelensky’s Address
According to Novyny.live: On March 25, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky issued a warning that Russia is planning an operation targeting the country’s water supply systems. He urged local authorities and communities to take the protection of these facilities seriously, highlighting their critical importance for every settlement.
“We also know that the Russians are preparing an operation against water supply systems in the coming months. Every community must adopt a serious and fully responsible approach to protecting these facilities,”he stated.
Two days earlier, on March 23, Zelensky had already cautioned that Russia was preparing a massive bombardment. In the night of March 24, it was recorded that Russia launched over 400 aerial targets across Ukraine, hitting 22 locations. These developments point to a growing threat against the nation’s infrastructure.
Strengthening Defensive Measures
To bolster defense efforts, Zelensky has instructed government officials and the Presidential Office team to coordinate closely with the military on air defense issues, particularly drone protection in western regions of Ukraine.
“We need to add more defense lines — this is a clear task,”he emphasized. These steps are aimed at safeguarding critical infrastructure amid escalating Russian aggression.
The president’s remarks reflect mounting concern over the security of Ukraine’s infrastructure, especially water supply systems that are vital for the population. The push to fortify defenses and enhance military coordination underscores the gravity of the situation and Ukraine’s readiness to confront potential future threats. It also highlights the ongoing importance of national security in the face of persistent Russian military hostility.
