She worked on the front lines, in temporarily occupied territories, risking her life,' wrote the president.

In March 2022, Viktoria fell into Russian captivity in Berdyansk, where she reported on Russian crimes in the occupied territories. After her release, she went to Poland, planning to enter the occupied territories through Russia, but disappeared without a trace on August 3 of that year. The Russians detained her in May 2024, and by October, news of her death became known, after which her body was returned to her homeland.
