Zelensky defines three security priorities: what was agreed with Umerov.
According to inkorr.com: The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky met with the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Rustem Umerov, during which three key areas of work were defined. The results of the meeting were reported by the president on his social media on October 21.
Work Priorities
The first priority is the preparation of new defense agreements aimed at enhancing the Ukrainian combat aviation. 'This is part of our strategy to create sufficiently strong Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to guarantee the long-term security of our state,' the president noted. Zelensky emphasized the need for proper coordination among all state institutions and defense forces involved in the preparation and implementation of the agreement.
The second area includes planning meetings with leaders of the European community and coalition supporters, which will take place this week. The president underlined the importance of each country clearly understanding 'what can support us most effectively at this time'. The list of needs includes air defense systems, elements of defense support packages, expansion of the PURL program, equipment for restoring energy infrastructure after attacks, as well as coordination to strengthen sanctions against the aggressor.
The third item on the agenda involves preparing for the upcoming meetings of the Staff and detailed processing of the needs of the defense industry. In this regard, the transformation of the NSDC apparatus is planned. 'The indicator of supplying the front with Ukrainian weapons by the end of this year must be at least 50%. This must be fulfilled,' Zelensky set the task.
Thus, during the meeting, Volodymyr Zelensky outlined three key areas of work: preparing new defense agreements, meetings with European leaders to gain support, and preparing for the Staff meetings to discuss the needs of the defense industry.
These steps underline the importance of international support for Ukraine in the face of ongoing aggression, as well as the need to strengthen its own defense capabilities. Deepened cooperation with European partners will be an important factor in ensuring the country's security in the near future.
