The Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky presented the mayor of Warsaw, Rafal Trzaskowski, with the honorary distinction 'City-Savior'. This was reported by Zelensky himself on his Telegram channel.

The decree to award the title 'City-Savior' to Warsaw was signed on January 13. Today, the president of Ukraine personally handed the honorary distinction to the mayor of Warsaw.

'The distinction of our state 'City-Savior' for Warsaw. Today I handed it to the mayor of the Polish capital, Rafal Trzaskowski,' - it is written in the message.

Zelensky emphasized that Ukrainians are very grateful to Warsaw for all the help they received during the hardest times. He also expressed gratitude for the solidarity with the Ukrainian people and support in defending our country.

'The distinction is awarded to the capital of Poland for demonstrated humanity, compassion, and solidarity with the Ukrainian people, for comprehensive assistance to Ukrainians who were forced to leave Ukraine due to Russian aggression, and for supporting the independence and sovereignty of our state,' - noted in the message from the President's Office.

In addition to Warsaw, the title 'City-Savior' has also been awarded to the capitals of the Czech Republic, France, and Lithuania.

Currently, the president of Ukraine is in Warsaw, where he held talks with Prime Minister Donald Tusk. The issues of arms supply and production, investments, sanctions against Russia, as well as cooperation in negotiations regarding Ukraine's accession to the European Union were discussed. Zelensky also met with the President of Poland, Andrzej Duda, where they talked about further cooperation in defense, politics, and sanctions.

Poland is also preparing the 46th package of military assistance for Ukraine.
