According to inkorr.com: The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, officially appointed Colonel Yuriy Cherevashenko to the position of commander of drone systems of air defense. This decision was announced by the Office of the President, specifically noting that the order was signed by Minister of Defense Denys Shmyhal.
Experience and tasks of the new commander
Colonel Cherevashenko has significant experience in the development of drone systems for defense. He participated in the formation of the first group of mobile rapid response air defense brigades and recently actively worked on improving interceptor drones.
The President emphasized the importance of the rapid implementation of drones, including interceptor drones, as well as the need to strengthen air defense with modern weaponry. These tasks were confirmed at a meeting of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief's Headquarters.
Volodymyr Zelensky highlighted the new responsibilities of Yuriy Cherevashenko, stating that his experience in this area will be key to the development of drone technologies that will enhance the country's defense capabilities.
